Public Statement of Library Copyright Specialists: Fair Use & Emergency Remote Teaching & Research: This Statement is meant to provide clarity for U.S. colleges and universities about how copyright law applies to the many facets of remote teaching and research in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak.

VIRTUAL RESEARCH HELP @ MAAG

Maag Library staff are available virtually during Library Hours to help with your research and library-related questions:

  • Use the Chat Box to chat with a librarian during library hours. Leave a message with your contact information when chat is offline.
  • Use Ask A Librarian email and a library staff member will respond during library hours.
  • Request a Virtual Research Appointment with a librarian for one-on-one research help using WebEx or Zoom.
  • Email your Subject Librarian for subject or class-specific help.

Privacy: All online communication between librarians and patrons, including chat transcripts, is treated as confidential and private.

ACCESSING DATABASES REMOTELY

When using A-Z Research Databases off campus:

  • You will be asked to authenticate with your last name and YSU ID#.
  • Occasionally you may need to clear your cookies or switch to a different browser.
  • You must be disconnected from the YSU VPN to use the databases.
