Test Instruments and Measurement Tools: Introduction

Provides information about locating scales, measures, surveys, or questionnaires for conducting research

Introduction

Test instruments and measurement tools are used for assessing some type of program, technique, or response from a person or group of people.  Most disciplines use them at some point. Finding a measurement tool and getting a copy of that tool are two different goals.  Test Instruments come in two categories: Published and Unpublished.

You will find published tools easily through one of the databases, however these tools will often require you to pay to actually get a copy to use in your research.

Unpublished tools are more difficult to find since they are often developed for a specific research need.  Many times you can get a copy of these tools by contacting the person who developed them.
